I started a project 18 yrs ago and got sidetracked by my career. I have 2 cars-'70 351C/4 speed(Shaker car) and a plain Jane 302 3 speed. I would like a stock looking 302 BOSS look-a-like but with a bad@#$ 351C drivetrain. I have all NOS chrome exterior parts and interior parts as well.Joined this forum so I wouldn't reinvent the wheel building this project. Her goes my thoughts on the drivetrain.

4 bolt block .30 over
Lunati balanced bottom end kit(Only about 9:5 to 1)
Roller cam (Which one?)
Here's where ya'll will have fun...2V heads w/4V SS one piece valves(Started with 4V heads and port plates but felt a would get into the power band quicker with the 2V setup)
Will CHI heads allow for the shaker assembly to still be used?
roller rockers
Weiand xcelerator
Can I use the Hooker super comp 4V headers on the 2V heads? (I already have them from 18 yrs ago)
MSD ignition stuff
Griffin cooling system
850+HP rated aod from CK Enterprises
Currie 9" w/4:11's and a detroit locker
Suspension-"Shelby" drop the frontend, Monte Carlo bar, Tower brace, subframe connectors, Reverse eye Leaf springs, Comp Engineering slide-a-link
Which shocks?
Which tires?

Hope to go low 12's or high 11's. Possible nitrous addition.
Please comment, critque, suggest on anything. It will only help me in the long run.

not positive but i think alex would say trash the intake. and purchase an edelbrock one. theres no carb selection unless i missed it. i think if your going to use nitrous id get a forged bottom end, i dont know much about the lunati setup you have. i dont know alot about things like that period. but everything from the headers down looks good to me. i think most will agree M/T slicks (for race ) or drag radials (for street) are the best you can buy. you really didnt say what your plans are for the car are you racing it or is it show or street?

Stock port 4v heads will make more power than any ported 2v heads. Adding 4v valves actually hurts flow in 2v heads. CHI heads as cast don't flow any better than 4v heads with the bowls cleaned up and cost a bunch more money. Personally, I would stick with the 4v heads and have a little port work done to them (NO port plates, they are a gimmick and not worth the effort or money.) If you stick with the 2v heads, the xcelorator is a good choice for intake, it's relatively cheap and makes good power. 4v headers will work on 2v heads, I have done it.

I wouldn't run any roller cam in it, solid or hydro. I would stick a solid flat tappet with a good stud girdle and use the money not spent on the roller cam elsewhere. I have run cams (a solid roller and a solid flat tappet) of similar specs, and the flat tappet ran exactly the same as the roller (and this was in a motor going 10 flat in the qrtr.)

Your suspension system sounds like it is 'kind of' designed for turning corners and not straight line acceleration; lowered yet has decent traction bars. Straight line acceleration needs the body to pitch rotate to help plant the rear tires. A corner carver has stiff suspension that doesnt allow the transfer of weight to the rear.

Yep, like KV says, that is a compromise suspension, it'll work fine for road use but you'll give some ET up at the strip.

Same opinion on the roller cam too, fewer parts to break with a solid.

With 4.11 gears i don't think any loss of bottom end torque would be noticable. I'd say stick with 4V heads too.
