I'm getting ready to start my 342/347 stroker project. I'd like to use a late model roller cam block with the early timing cover but I'm not sure what year I need. Can anyone get me pointed in the right direction? Thanks.

If you plan on running a stick, be aware that the later blocks, like all the roller cam blocks, have no provision for the clutch linkage pivot ball. If you run an automatic, it`s not an issue.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA M/Stock 302 5speed. An early Bronco parts house named Wildhorses sells a clutch equalizer bracket for EFI 5.0 & 5.8 blocks that dont have the hole in the block for the clutch linkage that you might want to check out. Its made for late model conversions to early Broncos Part # 8197 that sells for $19.99. Being as I own one I thought Id mention it. Maybe its something you could use or make

My dad and I had the same problem when we did our 302 to swap. But most Mustang part houses sell the bracket that bolts onto the bellhousing that then provides a provision for the for pivot ball. I took the picture blew it up and figured out to what specs it needed to be. And it was a done deal, no big deal to make at all.
