Holley recommends the use of one of their 750's for the 174 blower application. Both of the carbs they recommend are setup for supercharger usage. http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/FMS/FMSC/0-80573S.html http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/FMS/FMSC/0-80576.htmlI'm curious though, would an Edelbrock 750 not perform just as well and since they don't have power valves would I need one setup for a supercharger? I'm not very savvy on alot of this hotrodding stuff so excuse my ignorance. Also, I believe Alex said I needed to run a 110 gph electric fuel pump; just curious as to why it needed to be electric instead of mechanical. Probably something obvious but not sure. Thanks for your help, Luk

Here's two cents from someone who never has had his own blower I've seen a Performer 750 would work just fine on a blowm SBC, but just like the Holley you'll want a customized one. I've noticed once one of my friends has customized their carb they want/have to do it again and again. And more people like/need to take their Holleys apart so there will be more Holley people around to help you. A mechanical pump of the same rating would be fine but it will probably need a fuel pressure regulator even more. Alex must have had good experiences with the electric pump though so I'd probably go that way if your headlights don't dim VERY badly at idle.

The Edelbrocks can't compete with a Holley in a N/A situation... Just go to any track and you won't find one Edelbrock or Carter on any of the fast cars, guaranteed. It would really be sad with its lack of tunability in a supercharged situation.

I think the point here is that you pressurize the fuel bowls with boost, and the fuel pump then needs to work against that boost to fill the bowls? So the electric fuel pump can do that better? Im guessing------------------ '68 coupe, '66 289 C code engine, edel 600cfm carb, performer intake, dual exhaust http://www.geocities.com/ottouk_77/68mustang.htm

Thanks Guys, I figured the Holley was due to better tunability as well as more parts being readily available. So I guess thats the way to go on that one. I was just hoping I could steer away from the price. So I'll bite the bullet on that one.As far as the fuel pump goes, like Toronado said, I've all ready got issues with my electrical system (multiple components don't enjoy working when its cold until the car has heated up). So I was trying to stay away from anything along those lines. But if it'll give the best results then I've got no problem going for it. Alex care to chime in again and maybe straighten this out in my head? Thanks everyone, Luke
