Question:

I have a 1972 351C which had a auto trans on it and I will be switching it to work with a toploader that is currently in my Mustang. Can I just switch out the flex plate for a flywheel or do I need to do something else? Is the balancing all the same on the Cleveland motors?

Thanks

Balancing from one 351c to another should be the same, at least within factory tolerances.
The manual trans flywheel uses longer bolts to hold it onto the crankshaft.
The stamped metal block plate is different.

Thanks for the input. I think I will also need a pilot bearing to put into the crank. Does anyone know what size O.D. and I.D. I need for this bushing?

Get the roller pilot bearing for a 88-ish 5.0 Mustang. It helps ALOT with the shift feel and speed.....
