Just moved back to SK from Toronto & finally got to pull out the Cougar & I aim to drive it for the summer, after a day of tinkering (from sitting in a barn for 2 years)I got it to start & run nicely ...exept, after I took it for a little test drive & slowed down to pull it into the driveway it would bog out & will not idle at all, I leave it sit for about 10 minutes & fire it up, it runs fine, take for another short drive, after I slow down it bogs out & will not idle again for 10 minutes, any ideas? (carbd 302)

What carb is on it?

It sounds like the floats may be stuck or at least sticking allowing too much fuel to be dumped in the motor. After it sits, then the excess fuel evaporates. Of course when you fire it back up again, it runs ok because the engine is using the fuel at open throttle. Its a common thing to happen when a car sits for a long time and the carb drys out. Also, there could be some jive stuck in the needle & seat.

Does it have ram air? After a drive if the carb gets stone cold it can act like it hasn't warmed up yet.

Found out it was my electric fuel pump, sitting so long it must have gummed up a little, so I dunked it in diesel & let it pump for about 1/2 an hour & it worked out whatever was holding it back.
