I had posted earlier that I was planning on going to the NMRA race at Reynolds, GA last weekend. I had a great time., But then again, that's why I do these type races. I could race for more money locally, but this is just for fun a few times a year. I did ok this time. Made it to the semifinals in bracket 1. So, I won a little $$ on top of having a good time. The car worked well, but I had a few starting line difficulties most of the weekend. I had the only dragster there and the starting line was only prepped for door cars. My rear tires were far behind the spot where the door cars launched from. My tires were right in the middle of a bald spot on the track. It would slightly spin each tiem, but was spinning the same, so it worked. Then in the semifinals it finally hooked. My best 60' all weekend. I knew it was on a a pass and I blipped the throttle in the lights, but still broke out by .02 to the guy that won the final. Oh well, still had a great time. Also collected a couple of 7 sec time slips in time trials. The bracket program was on the 1/8 mile just like 99% of bracket racing in the southeast. During time trials the clocks were set for 1/4 mile. Just got my NHRA license recently and had never made a 1/4 pass. On the time trial Sat I ran it to about 900' and shut it off. 7.93, slowing down to only 144. Then on the last time trial Sunday morning I decided to run it all the eway through. It was still pullinng hard and then went up against the rev limiter at 1000', so I shot it off. LOL I had forgotten to raise the rev limiter. Still had a 7000 chip in it. Still went 7.83, slowing down to 155. I'm looking forward to a full pass sometime. I'm betting low 7.70's @ 175+ David Cole ------------------ 557 BBF Powered, alcohol injected rear engine dragster. 4.90 @ 143 1/8 mile. 1.09 60'. I've got to be crazy to drive this thing.
