I'm thinking of doing a little suspension work on my lo-buck t-bird. The plan is first to put in sub frame connectors. I've done this for a couple of fox chassis stangs, not a big deal. The question is what else should I do? I also thought about boxing in the rear control arms and trying a stiffer rear spring or stiffing up the stock spring with some rubbers. The car squats to much when I launch. What about shocks? Thanks in advance on any ideas. Roger, If I can get dad to pop up a picture or 2 of my Capri, I think it will tell the story for ya. A good set of adjustable shocks, and a set of traction bars should do the trick for starters. Thats all we did with the Capri until I had to add extra weight. Then we added air bags. The advantage for you is you can use the whole length of the bar.. I had to cut mine down about 10 inches to make it legal. The car had an 8 point bar, sub frame is tied, rear adjustable control arms, QA1 shocks, and air lift air bags along with the Lakewood traction bars. Rear springs are still stock.Mind you that before the car was a stocker, I drove it on the street and would 60ft in the high 1.60's low 1.70's with nothing more than the traction bars, and a set of slicks. 500lbs later, and recent upgrades like the adjustable control arms came after I wore out the stock bushings and the rear end was moving. I will work on getting pictures posted for ya. Tony

Maybe I should make traction bars and buy some air bags. With air bags I could load the right side more. Roger------------------ 65 comet project 84 T-bird 289/C4 13.74/99mph street/strip www.avdra.bc.ca Made in CANADA built for speed #1145

Both. When we first got serious with the car the rules dictated stock factory available brakes. No Capri ever came with 5 lug. Only the SVO Mustang and NHRA said no to those. So we invested a lot of money in 6 Bogarts for the car and they are 4 lug. The axles a bigass 33 spline lightweight, gun drilled Strange units with....you got it 4 lugs. As of last year NHRA said we can use aftermarket disc brakes and we just have too much invested in the axles and wheels to change them now. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
