I got tired of constantly fiddling with my 650 Mighty Demon and wanted to see if the Holley HP's are everthing they're cracked up to be. I can tell you right out of the box, with no adjusting whatsoever, this carb behaves better than the Demon ever did on it's best day. It's hard to say about performance, (never going to the track, just a chassis dyno), but if I were to guess, I would say the HP outperforms the Demon. It just seems to pull harder in second and third gear. It's a lot of money I know, but I'm glad I switched carbs and found out once and for all the Holley HP's are great performing carbs. Piece of mind..... Priceless [This message has been edited by Mach won (edited 04-02-2005).]

I was impressed with my 700DP out of the box too on my 351W, upgrade from 600VS. Wish I had gone 750DP now that I have 408W.

Okay Alex, I want your opinion. When I took my car to the chassis dyno, after taking the A/F reading on the first pull (with the 650 Demon), the dyno operator changed the jets from 71/79 to 68/90. The next pull with the timing unchanged (38*), saw the hp drop. Subsequent pulls reducing the timing saw the hp come back up and over the baseline pull. The car did run better after the session, but I think it was more of a timing issue than jetting. My question to you is, what do you think of the 68 primary's and 90 secondary's, jet selection? the final A/F reading was a pretty constant 13.2. The jet selection seems to be a little (alot) away from mainstream thinking. It seems to me you would want the primary and the secondary A/F ratios to be correct individually, rather than only WOT.
