I removed the axle seals due to the bearings having "O" rings installed the brake drum and now the back of the drum binds on the backing plate!! I will have to take the grinder to the backing plate and reomve about 1/8". Is a routine mod that needs to be done with new axles? Thanks for the help, Brian

Sometimes yes and sometimes no Brian. It depends on the drums usually. Factory FoMoCo drums generally fit perfect, but I have found the aftermarket drums seem to be a bit deeper and that creates a problem at times.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First SS/MA in the TENS! Brian,Just a thought, but you could shim behind your axle bearings. Moser told me the bearing should stick out of the housing 1/16". Mine were flush though, and yours are too, I bet. With the Moser retaining plates it wouldn't hurt to let the bearing stick out a bit. SteveW
