Okay, I finally found a couple 4100's a couple months back at a swap, bought 3 4100 1.12's, a couple Mopar Carters (eBay!) and a 4300D for $50. Figured $6.33 per carb was a good deal.....I'm finally rebuilding one of the 4100's for my 71 302. Its a no-number 1.12 EDC carb. I'd rather run a 1.08, but this is what I've got, so that's what it's getting. Any special "tricks" to do during the rebuild? Any specal faults I should look for? Also, for Alex, I was under the impression that the 4100 used a unique jet that was larger thread than a Holley. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Forum12/HTML/009310.html Just to satisfy my curiosity, I popped the air horn off, pulled a jet and tried a Holley jet, it threaded right in! I compared them with a dial caliper and they are identical, my Holley jet tool even fits. What gives? Do I have an oddball, or is it a quirk of Ford machining?

Very early 4100 Autolite's used Holley size jets. That is an old carb. Late 1950's. If you intend on using a power valve, use a Holley for the cam you have. (vacuum) Check the floats in hot water. Set the float level at 1/2 inch. Double the booster gaskets. That's all you get for free. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First SS/MA in the TENS! ah, that's just not funny...I've got a 4100 on my Comet as you recommended, I'm just wondering if its worth buying a kit to get another booster gasket.

They are the same as 2v's. Got any rebuilders in your area? They cost pennies. Or, an enterprising gent such as yourself could make some. 3 is even better by the way. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First SS/MA in the TENS! Be certain to double check the booster to carb top cover clearance as some get close and will interfere.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First SS/MA in the TENS!
