i pulled my sb today cause of extremly low oil pressure this morning driving around town. when i got home i checked the oil level was good but there was metal on the dipstick. so i got busy and main, rod bearings r ok there a 2 crank journals that have gouges in them, i dont have the cam out yet but the lifters, 4 lifters on the passenger side are horrible. this motor has less than 2,000miles. when we first fired it we ran it at 2500rpm for 15 mins.im anxious to see wat the cam and cam bearings look like. so long for the 75$ summit cam and lifter set ------------------ 77 triumph tr-7 with a ford 302,c-4,and soon to have a 9"rear end

Just to make you feel better I had a pricey Isky solid cam do the same thing. The first couple of lifters were wiped bad. I guess that is sort of common on the SBF, not sure why though. The cool thing was ISKY was great about a replacement. It will be interesting to see what Summit does for you. I wound up going to lifters with a hole EDMed in the bottom, no more problems. I only had about 10 miles on mine though.HTH, B-loose [This message has been edited by Bloose (edited 03-27-2005).]
