Do you agree with me that the intake for sale is ported?

It's not even a Boss intake as claimed.

Hans, we had a member or two here on M&M who had recently found one of those intakes.
I identified it for him a month or two ago on the classic forum.

That's the D1ZX Muscle Parts intake for the Dominator carb, it's supposed to have the four round 2" carb holes but somebody cut that out.

What we have is a D1ZX-9425-DA,the carb holes are oval shaped with rounded corners front and rear. There is a divider in the middle that separates the intake in left and right side. The bolt pattern is for a squarebore holley. We use a 780 vaccum (4628).
Anyway, i am looking for another one so if anyone knows of one for sale.... let me know and we will see if a deal can be made.

Hans Olsson

PS I am not sure that "oval" is the right word for the shape of the carb holes, they are more like slots with rounded corners front and rear.

Hans, the intake I have is the D1ZX-DA intake. Email me and we'll see if we can work a deal.

I thought that the carb pattern on the eBay intake looked too large. I think that's the "CA" intake?

The Boss 351 intake was a D1ZZ-F unit according to the MPC.

Could you post a picture of your intake?

D1ZZ-9424-F is a part number is it not?
D1ZX-9425-DA is the casting number on our intake. Maybe they are one and the same.

I have a picture of a D1ZX-9425-CA,it is aluminium with a spreadbore carb flange.
Is came on the -72 HO.

You guys are confusing me. The manifold pictured is a low rise dual plane
just like a production D1ZX-9425-DA (square bore) or D1ZX-9425-CA (spread bore)
intake. The D1ZX-9425-FA Muscle Parts intake cast by Buddy Bar did indeed
have a 4 round hole Dominator flange but it was a single plane. I have
pictures with the casting numbers and that is not the intake on Ebay. Are
you implying there was also a Dominator flanged dual plane intake sold through
the Muscle Parts program? I've never seen anything like that. The manifold
in question looks to me like a D1ZX-9425-DA or D1ZX-9425-CA that's had the
plenum opening opened up. The picture is blurry but you can still see the
cast-in firing order just like the stock intakes. The -DA had a 90 degree
cut out in one corner of the carb flange. If you opened the rest of the
flange to match that, it would look exactly like the one pictured. You could
also do the same thing with a -CA.

Dan's right. The DIZX Dom intake was single plane.

What the eBay one looks like is a standard flange or maybe a spread bore flange intake opened up enough to fit a Dominator.

Alex, I'm not sure about that. The -DA intake, from what I gather in the MPC and past discussions, was only available as an "over the counter" part through the Muscle Parts program.

The MPC states "unique competition part" and "refer to appropriate muscle parts catalog".

I know that NHRA lists it as an alternate intake, but they also list a Holley as an alternate carb for the Boss351 and we know darn well they never came through with a Holley, neither did a certain Shelby.. :-P

My FoMoCo books do show it and the Holley on the late '72 R code 351C.
