You can go back to standard petroleum oil without any issues.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First SS/MA in the TENS! I have always been amazed at the different answers to this question. Everything from it changes the consistency of the seals ( and then just the seals on the older cars for the newer seals aren't affected). I switched back and forth on my Courier and still put 160k on it, and it was a piston in the cylinder sideways that killed it not seals. I never could see why it would have made a difference and have never seen anything stated on a bottle or from a manufacture that said you had to stick with one or the other? Think I will believe Alex on this one.------------------ -1974 351w Block Bored .30-1969 351w Heads Fully Ported -Custom made Ford 9" with 3" Axle Tubes-28 Detroit Locker-3.73 Gears-Shelby Traction Bars Pics Michael

Yup, you can switch back. And I have / had too. Wive has a 95 Cherokee she bought new, and has been passed on to me for a driver. I ran synthetic in it since the break in period. At around 95k miles, developed a rear main oil leak. So I switched back to regular oil because I didn't want to drop $4 a quart oil all over. Well, now about 2 years later and 118,000 mile on the motor now, the leak has stopped leaking?????????????? And no, its not out of oil!

Skirted and cross-bolted aluminum block, Buick 300 aluminum heads (at the porting shop now), Buick 300 stroker crank, etc. Should be 296 cubic inches and only weigh 300 pounds. Dan Jones

I love the old Brit cars nearly as much as old Fords. Had an MG for quite a few years. Cool part about the car was it was so slow it kept me out of trouble. I bought it when I was 18 just after I got a ticket for drag racing on the street! Having a Brit car with some HP now that I have some self control would be awsome! You guys are making me jealous! Could you pop the bonnet so I can check out the mill? Oh ya, never drive with the hood down in the rain. B-loose

> Could you pop the bonnet so I can check out the mill? There are both boot and a bonnet pictures at: http://www.bacomatic.org/gallery/dan-tr8 That's my TR8 convertible. The TR7V8 project is a coupe but the engine bay is the same. Gotta get a real air filter on there. I bet a Sunbeam Tiger air filter would fit... Dan Jones
