I havent bought any performance wires in a while so I need to now what to get that will not interfere with the radio and other electronics. Was looking at the Ford racing 9MM wires and Summit 8mm wires.------------------ Ed S. 68 S-code FB GT 4spd(now C6)/3.25 PS PDB 68 J-code(now 289) Cp Sprint"B" C4/3L00-9" PDB PS AC Bla-Bla-Bla 99 F150 XLT Ext/cab, 4X4, 5.4L, 3L55

There are so many sophisticated filters available for radios these days that I don't think it makes a difference anymore. All of your "premium" wires are spiral core anyway. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First SS/MA in the TENS! http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/truth.htmI have the blue Summit 8mm cut to fit wires. No problems for about 3 years now, it replaced a set of MSD's that fell apart in less than a year. ------------------ reliving youth [This message has been edited by exlocal (edited 03-17-2005).]

We've found that you reach a point of diminishing returns with plug wire resistance. Once you hit a certain point, lower resistance does not produce any additional spark intensity/quality.250-300 ohms per foot seems to be the best range.

Is that the set that comes with the stripping tool? If so, how well does it work with crimping the ends?

Yes, that is the same one. I imagine most of the major brands are the same quality. The blue looks good with the blue engine block though The crimping tool is okay, not the best but adequate. One suggestion is to put some king of lubricant on the wires before slipping on the boots, makes sliding the boots over the ends easier after crimping, I used hair gel (my garage is close to the bathroom). ------------------ reliving youth

I liked the ford racing set. The resistance was low but I dont think it was as low as stated above. Price was right! Made a big difference for me when combined with the large diameter cap.------------------ '68 coupe, '66 289 C code engine, edel 600cfm carb, performer intake, dual exhaust http://www.geocities.com/ottouk_77/68mustang.htm
