We have a fuel vapor lock problem on our 75 Bronco. When it is in warmer weather, it runs like complete crap and is always wanting to vapor lock. But out on a winter trail ride, it ran flawlessly, which really makes me lean towards vapor lock. Right now there is no spacer on it, its a 600 VS Holley with center hung float bowls on top of a Weiand Stealth intake. I'm looking for about a 1/2" or so thick spacer that will help cool the carb. Also, what about those isolation spacers that have a metal plate that goes under the float bowls to block radiant heat, how well do they work?

not sure which is the best, but any wood or plastic one should insulate better than just the gasket. Have you checked to make sure the fuel lines aren't running past anything too hot? might not be in the carb the gas is getting warm.

I can't vouch for "best", but phenolic works very well.

www.cantonracingproducts.com makes them in 1/2" and up...

Holley also has gaskets made to help with heat.

Thanks guys, I think we'll try pluggin the exhaust crossover first and if that doesn't work, then we'll try the plastic type spacers.
