What was the last year Ford offered the 5.0?What year did they stop using the T5? When they switched from the 5.0 to the 4.6, did they also switch from the T5 to the T45? What about short and long T5 input shafts. What years had the short shafts, and what years had the long shafts? I think I'm stuck in the 60's Thanks, Jeff

I believe that 1995 was last yr for 5.0 & T-5 as 5.0 & 4.6 have different bellhousing bolt patterens & T-45 has a non- removable bellhousing. The 94/95 T-5s had the longer shafts making them harder to use for swaps, but you can always replace that shaft with a short one to make it work. I am no expert ,but if Im wrong someone on here will correct me.

95 was the last year for the 5.0 in the Mustang, I think it was still used through 98 or 99 in the explorers. The T5 was used in the V6 cars up through 04 I belive, the V8 cars had various other Tremec (T45, 3550, and T56) transmissions behind them. I think all 94+ T5s had the long input shaft, even the V6 models. I have also heard that the later V6 transmissions were 300 ft/lb rated transmissions. Hopefully that is some of what you are looking for.Scott
