Hi
Can I fit a converter with a 11/12" bolt pattern for a c4 in a 66 mustang?Looks like I would need a 164 tooth flexplate.Is there two types of bellhousing for a c4 (one for a 157 flexplate and one to fit a 164 flexplate)
If so would the larger bellhousing fit in a 66 stang?
Thanks
John

I can answer yes to the question that there are at least two different sizes of bellhousings for the C4. C4s installed in Mustang IIs use smaller ones, for example.

you will need the larger bell housing, a different spacer plate (the shim that gos between the engine and trans), and a 164 tooth flexplate. yup the mustang II had
9 1/2 in stuff. but it is kinda rare.

I would find out first if the 164 tooth bellhousing will fit the trans tunnel on your mustang first. If so, you can use the larger converter with the appropriate bellhousing and block plate.
