Popeye, I'm not up on ceramic pads, I like those made by Raybestos for all round use. A problem with disc front & drum rear on one tons we have a lot is that the rear self adjusters become inoperative causing the front pads to do the majority of stopping, thus overheating the front rotors causing them to warp. A severe case of this can be seen by the rotors being real rusty, almost orange in color of the cooling fins between the contact surfaces. Some trucks had a ratio valve with a lever connected to axle housing from valve that increased/decreased fluid to rear brakes depending on load/ride height of rear of truck. If this lever is broken, (if indeed it has one) all the stopping is again done by the front. Have the rotors mic'ed for thickness and lightly turned at a slow cut with a dampening band around them, use a non ceremic, organic pad, make sure rear shoes are doing their part, and you should't have any problems.

Thanks for the info I'll check for the valve and lever on the rear axle as well as the condition and adjustment of the Rr drum brakes. If there is no lever & valve at the rear do you think that could be a factory recall deal?It has the towing and camper option too. BTW I forgot to mention that it's a 4x4 also.
