looking at a 88 thunderbird TC with a 5 speed. the problem the guy says he doesnt know anything about the car just that he bought it for his step son. is in good shape the tranny doesnt make any grinding noises . but what happens is when he puts it into gear the car moves two feet and the engine revs. same as reverse. has no problems with shifting. my expert opinion is that the step son replaced the the clutch the wrong way and burned it up . think this is possible? thanks guys

Sounds like a bad disk or pressure plate. You might want to check the hydraulic clutch linkage for leaks, low fluid, but they will typically cause the opposite problem, lack of disengagement.

thats what i said. the guy seemed really cool. Ive always loved these cars and now i can get one for cheap too. i hope it is a bad clutch, bc if it isnt then i probably wont get it getting a new t5 is expensive.
