will a small block bolt right up to a fairmont that came without one? or do the mounts have to be moved? thanks

My Zephyr had a 4 cylinder, 4 speed. 351W and C-4 bolted right in. Thought the straight sixes used a different K member but not sure about that.

yep, six bangers have the longer motor mounts sitting forward. You either have to hack these off and make up new mounts or a motor plate or use a 4 banger or V8 Kmember.

The V6 uses the same K member as the 4 & V8 cars. Only the 3.3L 200 cube inline 6 cyl. uses the "wrong" K member. Unfortunatly,the vast majority of Fairmonts, & 79-82 Mustangs came with the straight 6. However, changing the K member is not that big a job. 8 bolts hold the K member to the uni body, plus the struts, steering shaft, & front brake lines. I`ve done a few K member swaps, as long as the engine is out anyway, & the car5 isn`t really rusty, it`s not that big of a job.
