I'd like to buy my own jet of jets for the Holley($41@ Summit). That's easy enough, but I'd like to know who's running the quick-change bowls, and if they like them. Would it meake more sense to stick with the standard bowls/ re-usable gaskets. Waddya think? JD

I do my swaps the old fashioned way and air the gas out of the rags afterward. can't quite bring myself to buy the quick change setup.

My Pops runs the quick change on his 67 442, Seems pretty cool, but I'm not afraid of changing them the usual way. JD

i like the old way myself. if it was to easy i would be messing with it when i shouldnt!! use an old spray paint can lid to drain the bowl into. works great.------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-302-7.33 @92mph 1/8 1.54 60 ft. http://community.prestage.com/Member+Pages/789.aspx M&M member #839

I have them, more of a pain in the a$$ most of the time. You have to have notched floats first, then you get the jet loose with the special screwdriver and back them out, then the jet falls off the end because it just bumps something ever so slightly, so if you give it more tension then it just shoots them off the end, so you usually try them first then you pull the bowls off afterwards to get the jets back out. I'd never buy them again.------------------ 1970 coupe restored with the help of my dad. 306 with 650 dp holley, Weiand Stealth intake, headers, mme custom roller cam, harland sharp roller rockers, kb pistons, 10.3:1 compression ratio, pertonix ignitor 2 with matched coil, lakewood bellhousing, 4-speed toploader, and 3.50 9" locker rear. 1986 f-150, 5.0, factory towing package with original c-6 trans

I've got several carbs that I use for dyno testing purposes that have the Holley brand jet quick change bowls and they work great in that application as they do save a lot of time. As was said in an earlier post, you have to insure that the jet tool holds the jet snuggly or you'll end up pulling the bowl off anyhow. If it's just a matter of initially dialing in a carb and not planning on constantly fooling around with it, then you're probably $ ahead in sticking with the stock bowls and changing the jets the conventional method. ------------------ Ted E.
