I'd like to buy my own jet of jets for the Holley($41@ Summit). That's easy enough, but I'd like to know who's running the quick-change bowls, and if they like them. Would it meake more sense to stick with the standard bowls/ re-usable gaskets. Waddya think? JD

I have them, more of a pain in the a$$ most of the time. You have to have notched floats first, then you get the jet loose with the special screwdriver and back them out, then the jet falls off the end because it just bumps something ever so slightly, so if you give it more tension then it just shoots them off the end, so you usually try them first then you pull the bowls off afterwards to get the jets back out. I'd never buy them again.

I've got several carbs that I use for dyno testing purposes that have the Holley brand jet quick change bowls and they work great in that application as they do save a lot of time. As was said in an earlier post, you have to insure that the jet tool holds the jet snuggly or you'll end up pulling the bowl off anyhow.

If it's just a matter of initially dialing in a carb and not planning on constantly fooling around with it, then you're probably $ ahead in sticking with the stock bowls and changing the jets the conventional method.

Big inch Fords are plenty fast, but Y-Blocks's are fun when they run in the low 9.60's @ 135mph.
