Picked up a C-4. 10" Contenental converter 4500 stall. It will replace the 4000 G.E.R stall. It will be pushing it on the street, but I only take short trips with the car to the car show 4 miles away in the summer. Just will have to watch my temp gauge on the transmission. I only have to wait 4 months before I can go to the track again. Winter=no fun.http://www.supermotors.org/registry/vehicles/detail.php?id=7089&s=22315#content

Congrats Dave on finding a different converter. You'll have to keep us posted on how much better the Continental runs than the G.E.R. and also how the Scorpion compares to the Strip Dominator. I agree, winters are no fun.------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox. Powered by a 357 Cleveland w/ closed chamber 4v's and a Funnelweb. I am running a 3500 stall on the street, and it took some time getting use to it, so I cam understand where you are coming from. I am running (2) 24,000 gvw B&M coolers, and it does fine with about 180 in town, and 160 the rest of the time. If I was doing it again, I would pick up a cooler from one of the F250 diesel automatics. About the same cooling, but neater and easier to install than 2 smaller ones.------------------ 1993 Tbird 393 stroker, 3500 RPM converter http://members.tccoa.com/393bird/

One thing that will help it from making a bunch of heat is the fact it is a 10" convertor. An 8" convertor of the same stall would make more heat.Just put a good cooler on it, and maybe stick an electric fan on the cooler and it should be fine.

I will be making one change at a time. The stall will be the first change. Once I get a good base line then I will mess with the intakes (maybe). Depends how much fun I am having this summer. http://www.supermotors.org/registry/vehicles/detail.php?id=7089&s=22315#content
