Has anyone ever seen a big gain from running
a 1050 or 1150 on a cleveland?

I've never tried it. All I can tell you is my 750 Holley has run better than any other carb I've tried including 750 Demon an 850 Demon and modified 850 Holley. Go figure.  ------------------

I've seen guys try that and slow down.Unless the motor is really big, or spins a lot of rpm (like 8500 plus), a 950HP is all most of them really need. Once we get my car on the dyno with the new motor, we may try a 1050 on it to see if it makes more power than my 950. But remember, my new motor is 402", 15-1 compression, has a BIG solid roller, and epoxied heads that flow a ton of air.
