I need a new 800 holley DP baseplate. I cant find anything on ebay but 750's. are there any other baseplates that will run with the 800. Are mechanical sec. and vacuum sec. bases the same?

I think the 800 baseplate has 1 11/16" bores just like the 750. The only difference is the 800 has larger secondary venturi. You can also use a 950 baseplate which is 1 3/4" and gain a few more cfm.

The vac secondary and mechanical are very different. The vac secondary base has no provision for the mech linkage or rear pump to name a few.

850 DP throttle body (the correct terminology) will also work.

While an 850 throttle body will bolt on to a 650-800 main body, it's NOT a simple bolt on. The 650-800 use a 1 11/16 throttle bore while the 850 uses a 1 3/4 bore. If you just bolt it on, the throttle blades will contact the main body when the throttle is open. You will have to relieve the main body for the blades to clear. It's the basic concept behind the 950 HP carb. It was also done for years before the HP carbs came out on the market.
