Change of scenery provides same result for Patrick
(1-21-2005) - When the rains began to fall early at Bradenton, Fla., Torco Race Fuels Pro Stock runner Robert Patrick traveled to Gainesville to continue his testing. Not only did the Fredericksburg,Va.-based driver run fast, he also established another "world's quickest" lap with a 6.383 at 218.23 miles per hour. The incrementals for Patrick were as follows: 2.712 - 330-foot, 4.133, 174.11 - eighth-mile and a 5.353 - 1,000-foot.
Ron Krisher and Greg Anderson were tops for Thursday with mid-6.60s.
In an interesting twist, Mitch Stott was driving the former Bob Rieger 1957 Chevy now owned by Tommy Lipar back in Bradenton. Stott proved that he hasn't missed a beat and running a shakedown run at AMS/TLR 29% over rules. The best run for any of the AMS/TLR cars in Bradenton has been a 6.11, 231.71 from Glen Kerunsky.
Running mainly eighth-mile hits at 29%, Ed Hoover ripped off a .980 sixty-foot en route to a 4.00. Hoover put up his best quarter-mile lap of the weekend with a 6.17, 228.48.
The Hardcore Motorsports team established history as they became the first LS-1 entry to produce a seven-second lap with a 7.94, 176.53.
