Hi folks! I hope the weather isn't too sh!tty in your necks of the woods. I have a question about Hard Block. It seems block fillers are shrouded in mystery. I've been reading many posts here on the topic. Lots of great reading(N02Mike, Kid, Alex, and others), but I wanted to know: When is it time to start thinking about using this stuff? I currently run a 289(+.030")decked & honed, Hi-po rods(ARP bolts), 7/16" head studs, main studs, and a balanced, stock crank. Right now, the little mill pulls to 8000, but I wonder what kind of abuse the stock block will handle? Thing is, I plan on raising the compression to 12.5ish, with Vic Jr.s(w o-rings), and a lumpy bump-stick. So, this block's forcast doesn't look any better than the weather up North! Fill me in!...get it? fill me in? JD------------------ Never fry bacon naked! ------------ 65 Fairlane 289ci Top loader 9-inch w./5.13's & locker 27"x10.5 cheaters

Anything with over 10 to 1 compression that will see the other side of 7k is a candidate for block filler.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS!
