Probably not the right place to post this but I wasn't sure were to do it.I was given, lobe lift intake = 351w with carb=0.2600, EFI=0.2780 inch lobe lift exhaust = 351w carb=0.2600, EFI=0.2830 Are either of these the same as a 5.0 HO cam? ------------------ Ed S. 68 S-code FB GT 4spd(now C6)/3.25 PS PDB 68 J-code(now 289) Cp Sprint"B" C4/3L00-9" PDB PS AC 99 F150 XLT Ext/cab, 4X4, 5.4L, 3L55

Never thought to look there but they say thats for a flat tappet hydraulic and not a roller cam. I don't see specs for a 96 truck there either but noticed the 95 car 351 as having .487/.487 on the lift with the flat hydraulic lifter.

Lobe lift and valve lift are two different things. You have to multiply lobe lift times the rocker ratio to figure valve lift. A lobe lift of .26 with 1.6 rockers makes .416 valve lift...

That makes sense to me and I did that but I didn't realize that ford had carbs in 95. The guy I got the specs from originally never got back to me so I don't know where he got his numbers. I noticed that NHRA has one listing in 95 for the truck and that the 95 car has a higher lift to it. They don't have any listings for a 96 truck and there is nothing for the early 97s that had 351s in them. I would think being a truck with lesser emission restrictions and having a roller cam in it that it would have a higher lift. There were roller cam and non-roller cam engines in the trucks. I didn't see a listing for the lightning either, I think they had the rollers as well.

There were no carbs on any 95-97 F150 or F250' trucks that I ever heard of. Maybe F600s had them but not pickups. My old 88 was injected. My 95 F350 bucket truck was injected too

Using the injected number I was given you would come up with .445/.453 and that is still less than the car spec. There was definitely a 95 roller cam 351W put in Ford trucks at the factory because I have one, why doesnt NHRA have it listed?

I got this info from someone on Stangnet.com, The roller 351 will have an F4TE cam. Duration is 256/266 (int/exh)- advertised not at .050. I don't know the @ .050 specs. Lift with 1.7 rockers is .449 intake and .476 exhaust. With 1.6's it's .422/.448. I've run this cam in a roller 5.0 with ported E7's and a Ford A321 intake topped with a 600 Holley VS carb, backed by a 4 speed and it was a blast to drive day in, day out in my 89 Ranger. Pulled from idle to valve float at 5500 rpms. Ain't half bad in my 6000 lb E150 van either From what I gathered from Ford's description of how they compared cam specs in the "Official Ford 5.0 book" it's optimized for lower compression ratios, so I don't think I'd try to use one in a higher compression motor. The 5.0 I have it in has only a high 8 to low 9 comp ratio and would run on the cheapest gas you could put in it.
