I wrote Butch the other day and asked how Larry was doing. Here's his reply. Ray Hi Ray, The last time they did any scans the tumors in his chest had spread quite a bit so they started hitting him really hard with bigger doses of chemo. The chemo is starting to take it's toll on him, he was tolerating it pretty well before but now his energy level is down pretty low. I talked to him a couple of days ago and he had picked up a cold, he didn't sound very good, I'm worried about him. I hope he can kick it but the chemo makes it hard to fight off anything like that. His spirits are still up, his attitude through this whole deal has been amazing. He told me not long ago, "We go down the road of life and once in a while there's a log in the road. Some people stop to move the log out of the way, Some people simply go over or around it, Some people turn around and go another way and some people are busy putting logs in the road to screw up others. This is simply another log in the road for me to deal with, but I'll deal with it and if it beats me, then it beats me but I'll deal with it the best way I can". That's one of the most profound things anyone has ever said to me, but that's the kind of guy Larry is. We are planning on going down there next weekend to celebrate Christmas a week early with my Grandma and I'll get to hang out with him then. I've cancelled numerous trips down there in the last few months because I was sick and didn't want to infect him, I guess it was just a matter of time before he picked something up. I sure hope he'll be ok, I'm really looking foward to seeing him.
