In another post, you guys are talking about Torque Converter quality. Well, what about the Dacco units? Mine is a custom built Igniter S/S 10" unit to my specs and stalls at about 4000 rpms. I've had it for almost 2 years and everything seems to be working great. It is a mainly street driven truck but will get some track time this spring. Let me know what you guys think. ------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox. Powered by a 357 Cleveland w/ closed chamber 4v's and a Funnelweb. I would probably use one for a door stop or a really heavy paper weight. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! Hmmm, so you're saying they are junk. But for what I use my truck for, what would be the big advantages to going with the big dollar custom converters? ------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox. Heavy truck? Cleveland 4V not known for torque? Sounds like the perfect reason for a custom converter. When the X brand converter companies built those converters to put on the shelf, they didn't have your truck combo in mind. ------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 408C 4V, best time to date is 10.50 best MPH 127

They had an off the shelf one that would stall out at about 3600-3800 rpms. I called and talked to the tech guy and told him what I had. He didn't want to give me that one, he said that because it is for a truck and its not your 'average' small block, I would benefit from one of their custom units. I had a G.E.R., I know I know, converter in it before that and this one seems to launch a lot harder than that one did. With the G.E.R., the engine would flash to like 3,000 rpms, then the truck would start to take off and slowly start to accelerate. Sounded like it was slipping really bad, then at about 4,000 rpms, it was like everything worked together and it would just start to pull super hard. But this one sets ya back and pulls very hard to the top. Someday, after I get done with college, I'll be able to afford a good, custom converter and will be able to compare the two.------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox.
