I'm in the process of changing out the worn out rubber in my perches. I'm replacing them with the poly type. How free should the shaft rotate in them?. I thought about going with roller bearings but would they hold up under street conditions?------------------ 1968 coupe 351W, Bored.030,Stock Crank, Stock Rods,Decked,KB Hyper. flat top pistons. In ours, you can grab the shafts with your thumb and fore finger and spin it several times. I have not been able to ever get any rubber or poly bushing units to spin with my bare hand. Always need pliers or vise grips to even move them.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! Alex do you just put a Bronze/Brass bushing in the perch body? Use the existing shaft or machine a new one?How is the Suspension Essay coming? Fred ------------------ Fred 68 Mustang 500CID/Powerglide - "No Tubs" 86 Mustang GT Cobra

Machine bronze bushing for the perch. I use the existing shaft. It's been done except for drawings.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! COOL! Wanting to get started on the front end. One of my new years resolutions. LOL! I used oil impregnated bronze bushings in my spring perches and they work great. Alex, would the MOOG "problem solver" shaft kit for the upper control arm be a good idea or is there a better option. It uses bushings like on a Fireturd. Also do you recommend using a rod end on the front of the strut rod to free it up?------------------ 68 Cougar XR7, 428 4-speed, Best ET 6.82 @ 101 1/8, 10.69@ 127.44 with 1.51 60 ft. No on the problem solver upper kit. Better to do your own. Yes on the strut rod ends.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS!
