I am rebuilding a 302 out of a 97 ford explorer to put into my mustang. I just put roller rockers in and after I finished, I noticed that some of the lifters are "soft" meaning that as the cam lifts them and they push on the pushrod, the top of the lifter sinks in about 1/8 of an inch or so. The problem is that only 3 of them do this while the other 13 do not. I don't know if it is just a lack of oil flowing through them or what, but if it is something that I need to worry about, I would appreciate any input. I just don't have enough experience to know if that is normal for lifters or not. Thanks, Kurt

Welcome to M&M ! It's normal.
