I'm plan to build a 347 stroker to go in my 67 coupe. I would like to use 10.5 to 1 compression, looking at victor jr heads, thinking of using Crane solid roller. I don't know what lifter and rockers to use. Have a 750cfm vac. sec. I have a c-4 that I'm have built. plan on using a .410 gear. I would like to get low 7's in the 1/8 with my set-up. But I need alot of help, because it's has been 22 yrs since I built a race engine. And in that time there is alot more equipment out there to use. So if you help me it would be a great help. I like building or I would buy a crate. Thank You. This is a great site......------------------ 1967 Mustang coupe 2003 Mustang conv. Will race for food

If you go with Crower roller lifters and rockers, you can't go wrong.------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 408C 4V, best time to date is 10.50 best MPH 127

Unless you're already money into a 302/347, you might consider building a 351W or a 351 stroker. You could probably find a used block pretty cheap. I just figure it'd be cheaper to build the 351 than a 347, and if you were going to stroke it, might as well have around 400 c.i. rather than 347. Good luck to ya!

I'm basically running the exact same setup in my Comet. It runs 6.80's in the 1/8th w/ 10.5:1 compression.

That combo with 600+ lift solid flat or roller cam, Vic jr intake, 1 3/4 headers, drag shocks, Cal-tracs traction bars, and 28x10" slicks should run low 7's without pushing hard. Wish my POS would run 6's!

I agree, not real hard to do with the right combination of parts. I think if I really pushed my combo I could get some 6.50 - 6.60's....

I thank you for your comments. Still looking for the right set-up. It's been years since I've built a race engine. And this stroker is new to me. My last engine was a 69 302 boss back in 1980. So any help would be useful. Thanks again.------------------ 1967 Mustang coupe 2003 Mustang conv. Will race for food
