I've been reading about where to put vacuum ports on a spacer and a few people said that you can't run your pcv system off of the secondary side. There isn't enough flow or signal going through and it will oil up the secondaries. Is this true? I'm also condsidering drilling and tapping my carb base plate to accept the rear vacuum port. I have the 830 annular dp that doesn't have any fittings coming out of it. Is there enought flow to feed the power brakes and pcv from one fitting? Most likely will drill it out for 1/4" pipe.

I am not sur I have a great answer but look at the stock aluminum spacer plate, doesn't take it's vacuum from the rear secondaries? The other thing is you are only trying to keep the oil vent system from building pressure so I do not see the need for a strong vacuum source.

You can go either to the front or the rear of the spacer. Vacuum signal will be the same in either location. If it's a four hole spacer, the vacuum port needs to intersect either both primary ports or both secondary ports.

Holley carbs put those direct vacuum ports (the 3/8" hose one) almost anywhere on the base plate (side, front, rear) but they typically channel the underside of the base plate so that the vacuum is pulled off of the two front or two rear throttle bores.

Big inch Fords are plenty fast, but Y-Blocks's are fun when they run in the low 9.60's @ 135mph.
