Yes Jerry, He did run and had a good turnout with temps 55-60. I paid entry to race, but got money back after the time trials, transbrake was acting up again & I couldnt hit the tree if I was leaning against it. Many said .4 difference between CJ & DOVE heads, didnt turn out that way. My best ETs with CJs at the first of the year ranged from 5.85 to 5.90. Sunday the DOVEs on a freshened block, reringed, cam, bngs.etc.same carb, same jets yeilded 5.95 to 5.98 as best. As you know these heads are ported by me to CJ intake size & tapering to DOVE size right before short turn. All removal & resizing int. & exh. was done in the upper part of port only, floor was only cleaned up. I was concerned about exh. flange being so narrow, but it didnt leak. These heads are going to like more timing than the CJs & more jet as the water temp was some 20 degrees higher than CJs with same jet. Maybe after a few runs, adj. timing & fuel, it might even be faster. Sounds a lot different too. I may have to go to a 4.56 or 4.30 gear to keep it in RPM range I have cam & cam timing set at.Dont like 67-68 in lights with an unbalanced stock bottom end, although it never hurt it before. Thanks for asking.Had a couple of Jerry Smith escapades (almost) as one car broke a trans line on launch, took out 60' timers, almost hit other car. Another spun completely around at half track not hitting anything.

sounds good, time will pan it out. We'll have some good weather to race soon enough. Maybe early Feb.

I have a set of 9 inch 4.56's if you're interested. Price is right too.

Never glad to see anyone spinning but I'm glad he didn't pull a "me" and run through the guard rail. I wonder if I made the top 5 on Mr. Franks all time list of damaging track equipment?

I have to put my rear end back under the car next week and it should be ready. Got another third member ready to install. Should be a tad bit more stall on the vertor since I'm goin from 4.56's to 4.11's. Might run slower but should be easier out of the hole. Might have to buy a 9 inch vertor after this, we'll see.

You need to try a few races at Holly Springs this year and bust in on that 6.00 index pro tree stuff. I think I can slow it down some by shifting sooner.
AND I think we can wear them out if we get our shiznits right!

Cya and Merry Christmas.
