Just wondering if anyone used one of those pressurized oil canisters or electric pump dealies to prevent dry starts. I dunno how much wear it would reduce in a race motor, but for street some sources say 40%-60%.Anyone?

I have an accumulator that can be utilized as a pre-lube. it's a great tool. ------------------ JS "never submit yourself to scientific tests no matter how bad you need the money, for all you know they could have erased your memory and YOU WERE REALLY SOMEBODY BEFORE" 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag

first off what kind of accumulator? does it have an electric solenoid to keep pressure in it when the car is turned off, or would it loose all the pressure unless you manually shut the valve before turning off the car, and opening it before starting as in the moroso ones i looked at. Any idea where you could get a electric valve to use on an high pressure oil line? So that it would be open when you get 12V? [This message has been edited by Dubz (edited 12-15-2004).]

That solenoid is an industrial part, available at places like Grainger or MSC. I have a bunch of them in use on equipment at work, never had one fail, and they are rebuildable.
