If anybody was, it was me.If by mentioning the co-incedence of the management restucturing right after killing Div. 5 I was disrespectful, I'm guilty. If questioning the disregard for all the racers and potential racers, sponsors, and folks like Alex who worked very hard to build up the division was disrespectful, I'm guilty. Thank you . . . thank you very much! I couldn't understand why they banned ME!?!?! Whatever.
Screw them. And screw that no-real-name wimp Johnny Bananas. At least DV and I aren't afraid to use our real names. I bet Johnny is really an IHRA official/employee. New email account on yahoo tied to the name. FAKE! I have never been one to sit back and get run over. That is part of my charm. We worked to damned hard, drove too many miles, tolerated crappy tracks to help build this division and this is the thanks we got. Grrrrrrr! They won't get my money next year. I was very excited to race the convertible too. So much for competing in IHRA with Tony and Alex for me. I am just worried where IHRA is headed overall. Don't look to good for us sportsmen. I miss Bill Bader.

Beth, I also think IHRA is headed away from the sportsman racers. NHRA is much more interested in pros, of course, cause the big money is there. What both sanctions don't seem to think about is where the pro drivers usually come from, sportsman ranks. I was actually pleased with the rumor that went around a few years back the NHRA was going to buy IHRA and make it the sportsman circuit leaving NHRA to the pro and semi-pro ranks. Pretty good idea if you ask me. Call it a minor league, if you will. They also fail to realize that there is entertainment value to sportsman racing, not just the 300 MPH fuel cars. Granted, it would have to be marketed differently. So that being the case, maybe its time for some noted sportsman racers with some influence to think about a new sanctioning body. Or maybe one of the smaller offshoots already operating could expand into that area. IHRA is going to fail, in my opinion in going primarily to professional drag racing. Nobody outside the sport has ever heard of them. Ask somebody at work if they have heard of Clay Millican, or Mike Ashley, or Bruce Litton. Then ask them about John Force or Kenny Bernstein. You can bet the farm that Div. 2 Pro_Am won't go much longer, then which one is next? The North Carolina bunch may be the only division left when its all done. Looks to me like that state has the highest number of tracks per square mile on the planet. They can't help but make money there as long as the racers are fairly happy with them. I really don't want to race NHRA next year, but I could. Tri-State at Earlville is a little closer for me than Eddyville, but I don;t like the track as much. If I want to use the throttle stop, I may need to think about that. In the meantime, I'll likely bracket race as I have been, but I sure wanted to run some Hot Rod next season. ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

Im with you Tom. We bought our Falcon pretty much because we would have no problem with setting the car up for Hot Rod. Sure we hit some snags with the headers, steering, and rearend, but it went decent. Now we finally get everything in place and they rip the rug out from underneath us. We spent a bunch of dough for nothing. We bought a throttle stop and timer and now have now place to use it. So now I have to get rid of it. Yeah right. Im pretty sure my brother is fet up with racing, and as you know we had the Stang on EBay. Im pretty sure we are gonna sell the Falcon and keep the Stang. Its not my decision, but I support it. He has the titles for the cars not me. There are WAY too many memories attatched to the Mustang to get rid of it. Its sounds corny, but its true. We only raced the Falcon for a season, so its not that big of deal. Im still gonna stay in racing, if Tom decides to get out of it or take a year or two off, to help my friends race their dragbikes. I would love to get the opportunity to drive myself, but I dont think the supports there for me to do that. If it was not for people like Alex and Tony, we would not have the courage to go try the divisional thing. Now all we got is local stuff. Take Care, Steve.

I haven't raced at CFR. I've been there a couple of times a few years ago when KV was racing here. Have not been back since. Hey Steve! Think about this. The North Central Super Street Assoc. runs a little circuit of races around here. I think they do a couple races each at Eddyville, Tri-State and CFR among others. They charge like 10 bucks a year, I think, to belong and have points awards at the end of the year. More importantly, its probably a better way to get into that kindof racing than the Div. races for IHRA or NHRA and they don't run every week so a guy can do something else. I know a couple of them. If you are interested, I can get you a phone number to call, I'm sure. I'm sure considering it for next year. I really can't see running every week trying to chase bracket points and these races don't require long travel distance. ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'
