I clamped my rear springs front and rear, rollerized my front spring perches etc. The launch feels better, lifting the front end now, but the 60' hasnt improved, still mid 1.60's. 4.95 330's. After the first couple passes I lose 2 mph, from 86 to 84 mph. Then every run after that is 84. As the temp cools down I expect to run a little quicker, but it doesnt happen. Any thought's about that ??
Went two rounds, then we got rained out
Thanx ...Joe

Joe,

The good news is that losing mph is not related to your 60' times.

The bad news is that you lost h.p.

Maybe your jetted too lean and the better air made you over rich?

If it was already hooking, you're probably not going to gain anything from loosening up the front end.

Getting too much rise will just slow the car down. It will be moving up instead of forward.

Clamping the springs will keep the rear of the car from moving too much, which should be a good move if traction was not a problem.

Good Luck!

Yah, I realize it's different problems. My 60' times seem to be more consistent now. About the 2 mph, I'm feeling a vibration in high gear that seems to go away as I approach the finish line. I'm thinking maybe the clutches are chattering or slipping in high gear. It seems to take a sec. to engage reverse also. Reverse uses the high clutch also. whadya think ??

In this pic I had lakewood bars , which didnt really work. I clamped the springs and used a pinion snubber, Mopar style and it hooked a lot better than it does now. The subframes weren't connected at that time either. It was a 4 speed then
