Yes, but it doesn't seem to get as much street time as it use to. I am also running a lot of stall. ------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 408C 4V, best time to date is 10.50 best MPH 127

I am, and have not seen any thing negative about it. My engine dynoed best at 32 degrees from 2,000 up, so I locked it at 32 degrees. I run a MSD Digital 6 Plus, so use the start retard and it works great. I am running a 3500 stall speed. I checked my last tank, and got 13.8 mpg, so am very happy. (that did have a 125 mile road trip and about 50 miles in town) The throttle responce is GREAT. It even idles better. I guess it all depends on the combination. ------------------ 1993 Tbird 393 stroker, 3500 RPM converter http://members.tccoa.com/393bird/

I'm running mine locked out at 34*. No starting issues whatsoever with a 10:1 motor cranked by a FRPP hi-torque mini starter ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

Be careful, without a start retard or a delay switch if the motor kicks back it could damage the flywheel or starter. I tried to lock out mine and the motor kicks like a mule. I guess my little 268 roller cam (230 @ .050) is too torquey for 36 degree starts------------------ 1966 Mustang Coupe: Custom glass hood and BIG scoop sits atop a 289 stroked to 331 c.i., Steel crank, rods and girdle, TFS alum. heads, Stealth 8020 intake, Xtreme 268 Solid Roller, Holley 750 HP, long tubes, 4speed, 9" 3.50 posi. 11.86 @ 116 mph (7.62 @ 93 mph)daily driver! Mine is locked out at 35 degrees, and so is the Mustang. Works great with a higher stall converter. SteveW

347lx,Lock it out and use your start retard if it kicks back. You'll like the throttle response and better idle. SteveW

Mine is a duraspark. I drilled and tapped through the mechanical advance plates and shot a screw through them. One of the plates is some what hard. I did the same for the vacuum advance. Works good.------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 408C 4V, best time to date is 10.50 best MPH 127

Anyone using the TFI distributors? Only three wires to hook,no advance mechanism and pretty reliable. The tfi is probably the most popular distributor in ministock racing powered by 2.3 Fords.
