I know this will bring a lot of different opinions, but how much stroke can you get out of a stock 351c block? The block will be filled with hard block up the the water pump holes. I'm thinking about starting to piece together a 351c stroker short block and then transfering my parts over to it. What is a good, inexpensive kit? I'm even willing to get used parts that are in good shape. ------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox. Powered by a 357 Cleveland w/ closed chamber 4v's. A 4 inch stroke will go in a C block very easily. I don't know if it would be safe to go more than that. The piston and rod would have to be so short the rod ratio and ring package would be compromised. I suppose it can be done.

Cleveland style, I got my whole valvetrain from Mark and have had very good results with it. How much did you end up paying for your stuff from Mark?------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox. I will have to look at my invoice, but I think the kit was at about $14XX or something like that for the Scat steel crank, Scat H-beam rods and basic package pistons. I added some extra cost for custom Ross pistons with inverted domes, balancing and all the rest of the assesories(billet timing chain, crank spacer, King race bearings, 1/16" rings). My local machine shop did the boring w/torque plates, decking and general stuff like that. I did the fitting rings bearings and assembly and everything checked out spot on.
