I'll tell you guys, I just don't know where the hell Skooter's head is at. This "short term pain for a long term gain" policy seems to be alienating more racers than they are gaining. 2003 and 2004 were tremendous growth years for the IHRA, and now I am getting nervous about the future of sportsman racers in 2005 and beyond. Without Bill Bader to keep the current powers in check, a lot of common sense will no longer be applied. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! This is the second time they've tried to infiltrate these parts, only to pull back out. How do they hope to "get bigger" pulling stunts like this? I'm with you Alex, the future with the sportsman communuty isn't looking good.

I saw this yesterday and wondered what this really accomplishes.I can kindof see eliminating the Eddyville race, it seems to not draw alot of cars, but the Cedar Falls race?? We (the Pro Am racers) actually wanted out of Eddyville DV. We would have rather run at Humbolt. It wasn't the track, it was Gary and his attitude towards us. He just never wanted us there from the begining starting in 2000. I re read that piece on IHRAs web page and now I'm really confused. It almost sounds like they are eliminating Division 5 altogether. I originally thought it was just re aligning the Pro-Am races. The way the story sounds, Div. 3 now encompasses Div. 5 to the Mississippi but nothing is said about what happens to us! What's the scoop here? Are we now non-entities. really ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

Don't feel too bad about that. From what I have heard from several buddies this year, Gary thinks (acts like) the weekly bracket racers are a nuisance also. He succeeded this past year in chasing several longtime racers away from Eddyville.

So, are the tracks west of the river now without a sanction? I don't understand how they can do this?So if that's the case, they are abandoning Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Norht and South Dakota? No guys, the tracks are all still sanctioned and our memberships are all in tact. We are all now members of division 3 instead of division 5. You need to contact Sherrie Barbour at IHRA to get a new division 3 number. I was suprised by this also. We FINALLY got all of our ducks in a row to come hang out with Alex, Tony and Beth a the Divisionals and run Hot Rod, but not now. Looks like we just go to Cedar Falls and run the Summit Super Series thing. Alex: I actually feel honored that you said you would rather run Humboldt than Eddyville. Heck, I would pay your entry to see the bodylines of ole MoneyMaker at Humboldt!!!!

Well, I think this really sucks! I don't want to change numbers. How can they do this? Why are they doing this? Will enough PO'd racers calling and emailing IHRA do any good? We shouldn't go down without a fight. I know more that one guy in central Iowa that have spent thousands on Top Sportsman cars. Now they have one or two reasonably close races to run. What about guys in Colorado or the Dakotas? They have to go 1000 miles now to run races like that. I bet that takes care of the bracket finals at Cordova, too.
This is ridiculous and unnecessary. Idiot Hot Rod Asses ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

I'm willing to start it, but I don't want to go it alone. How many division 5 racers can you guys contact that will help with e-mails? I am pretty certain that I can get most if not all of the Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnisota, and Illinois S/SS racers to jump in. We will be fighting a losing battle, but at least we let them know that they have alienated a substancial amount of their membership that they worked very hard to obtain.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! Let me know what I can do. Today is Toms birthday, and we all pitched in to get his membership and permanent number. His number is 5615, does that mean we will have to get it changed to 3615? Steve.

Well, check out the newly posted div. 3 Pro-Am schedule in IHRA.comThey added some info to it. The Division 5 Pro-Ams are the only races being changed. The bracket programs will remain under Div. 5 with the finals still at Cordova. Either they changed their minds about killing off the division altogether or they didn't explain that very well. Its still ridiculous to justify eliminating races in the Pro-Am series to make participation grow. Would you shoot a chicken to get more eggs? Hate to say this guys, but in my 12+ years in the radio broadcast business, this is a typical Clear Channel move. You think NHRA is all about the money??... Clear Channel is definitly all about the money. If CC thinks that they can combine something/anything to save on costs they will. I honestly think that this is not something that Skooter Peaco had any say in... he was told by the Clear Channel "market research" geniuses that this is the way it would go down. Class Racers be damned. It's a hell of a lot cheaper for Clear Channel to cater to the bracket racers than it is the class racers. Expect to see more of the same in years to come with Clear Channel running the show. Chris
