Years ago my diff housing spun and of course wasted the perches, the d/shaft went thru the gas tank etc. I had new perches fabricated and boxed but it seems that my diff is not at the correct angle. It's almost perfectly in line with the d/shaft at rest. Would it be feasable to use shims like on a truck staight front axle to corecct the angle ?? thanx.....Joe

Thanx Alex I'll try to track some down. Those shims are for use between the tracion bar and the spring, I want to use it between the diff housing and spring, will that work ok ??[This message has been edited by ackjlo (edited 11-09-2004).]

The C&E Shims come with a hole drilled in the center to allow you to apply them between the housing and the spring.. Alex may be able to get them for you,, if not I know that Summit has them and they work great..------------------ Don 6T6 Fastback 331 STROKER, T-5 Royal Blue Metallic w/Red-Blue Ghost Flames http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/BigD.html First Time out.. 13.384 sec @ 103.388 mph [This message has been edited by Big D (edited 11-10-2004).]

Make sure they are forged steel or steel plate, cast shims can crack and if that makes the rear end come loose... wasted perches and maybe a gas tank again

Hanks Bank was the former Harr Ford Cobra, It was the A/sp record holder in 65 or 66. Turns out it was the only cobra ever built by Ford, not Shelby. It had aluminum heads and water pump. It sold recently at Barrett jackson for 290,000. +. We raced in the New England area.http://www.productioncars.com/photo_gallery/shelby_collection/shelby_dragon_snake.php I have a pic of the car as Hanks bank with me in it, but I havent figured out out to post pics here yet ------------------ 68 fastback cobra jet was a 4 speed now C6 I bought new for $3100.
