I've never looked either. And right now, I'm not sure my one good block is in a place that is accessable. Plus, it's a 4 bolt block if that makes a difference.

I cannot imagine any scenario that would warrant the holes being drilled all the way through.I have never seen a C done this way...and I have nver seen a Converted 2 to 4 Bolt 351C or 351W done this way either. If memory serves...the outside bolts that make a 4 Bolt Main Cap a 4 Bolt are shorter than the vertical Main Cap bolts to begin with. I have only converted 1 2 Bolt Block to a 4 Bolt Block...and from most of what I've read..it's rarely if ever warranted unless you are a very dedicated High RPM Racer all the time. Some here are...and that's cool , but for the average guy whom just enjoys extra power for a street car...the expense is debateable as to it's actual worth? Before I get blasted for my comments , I realize the benefits of a 4 Bolt in regards to harmonic balance and end-play vibration dampening...and that is the aspect that sold me on the expense of converting my 2 Bolt 351C to a 4 Bolt. ------------------ 2000 Crown Victoria (Performance and Handling Package. 1994 SVT Ford F-150 Lightning 1988 Turbo Coupe Thunderbird (5-Speed) 1988 Crown Victoria Police Package (Modified to the max) 1968 Torino GT (Fastback) 351C 4V with B&M C6 Tranny

No blasting from this camp. I have said over and over again that 4 bolt mains arent needed in a cleveland unless it is a circle track motor or one that 'sees' 8500+ rpm. I feel they are just like the oil by-pass line that feeds from the front of the block to the back. Not worth the expense for about 90% of the guys running clevelands. The cylinder walls will give up long before either of those are required for most folks (myself included.) Every motor I have built used 2 bolt mains. Strange thing is, either I wasn't having issues with it, or was just ignorant to what I was looking for, I never could find signs of the main caps moving around like so many people complain about.

Thank you for the replys. It looks like there was to little material around the bolt hole and the drillbit broke through at the bottom of the hole. We have run the block with no problem. I think it has looked like this all the time i just recently discovered it.Hans ------------------
