I'm going to be putting my 9" rear together real soon. Hopefully this weekend. I have used ford 3.50 gears and am going to be using a powertraxx locker. I have some 85w-90 mobil 1 synthetic gear lube already should I use it, or go with the heavier 85w-140, since it says that the locker will make less noise with the heavier oil. Or should I be using just regular oil dino oil in it? ------------------

If you're not concerned with the ratcheting noise, go with the lighter synthetic oils. Less drag equals more h.p. to the rear wheels.  sTEVEw
