What is the max fuel pressure a Holley carb can take? My Holley Blue fuel pump box says it puts out between 7.5-9 psi. Does this really need a regulator or is it just a precaution?

Your carb will leak if you dont use a regulator. You dont really want over 6 psi at the carb and 4-5 will work just fine as long as you have a big pump. I ruined a set of float bowls tring to tighen the needles down enough to stop a fuel leak, turns out my blue pump was pushing 9 psi at the bowls.

It needs one, but since it comes with one, you wont need to seperately purchase it. Most good needle and seats will tolerate just shy of 8 lbs (my fuel pressure is always set at 7 1/2 lbs.)
