Finally got my car to the track last Sunday for test and tune. Went to a track up near Cleveland called Thompson Dragway. Anyhow, I was playing with ignition timing, and found that everytime I backed off the timing, the car would pick up. Finally, before my last full pass, I bumped the timing back to 32degrees, and also upped the primary jet size 2 sizes to 75 (750dp). The car picked up .28 So now I'm trying to figure out which made the biggest difference, the timing or the jets? Is there a good way to verify?------------------ '68 mustang 351 clevor- 10.92@124 '67 Stang, 351W -11.18@118 '69 351C Torino-14.90@100 '78 Pickup 351W-15.56@88 '79 Pickup 460 ET=??

Sure, with an EGT (exhaust gas temp) meter. .28 is quite a bunch

Perhaps you had a lean condition that preferred less advance until you fattened it up? Charlie
