Well if some of you guys read my mini spool post I said I was going to race my car at the flashlight drags on saturday night. There is no timing and it is at an airport. They have it set up so its like 800ft long. Well lets just say I never had so much fun. This is the first time I ever really got to run the car. The first run I ran a 500ci mopar Cuda.He has run his car alot at this event so he knew the drill. I got beat by about 2 car lengths. He hooked and was gone and I spun through first, got way sideways in second and started to catch up in third.I have to say that these BFG DRag radials are good for nothing!! All the guys are running ET streets.Your car has to be street legal to compete. I definately need some drag springs in the front end too, since now I have 720 road race springs. The front end hardly lifts. Needless to say that yellow Mopar is on myt hit list! Another thing I want to address when I get the new tires is I want to go from the 26" tall tires to a 28" because my shift light was coming on before the finish line.I have 3:89 gears and dont want to go any higher (lower numerically).Well If you guys have any pointers or tips please say so.Remember I'm trying to hook on a surface that has no prep and is concrete not asphalt.

Sounds like a good event, who sponsors it? I like having a streetable car. My buddy Joe's Camaro is SOO fast and good looking but it gets 9/10ths of its miles on a trailer. You're probably on to something with the tires. My Radial T/As used to hook as good as em fox bodies on street/strip T/As. AND, you can swap wheels the next day so you can drive your Mustang to the local burger cruise or on the back roads.

Your shift light should not be coming on in 800ft with 3.89's and 26" tires. You should only be about 4000rpm... unless you are doing 110+ mph (low 10 second car?) or the tires are!

The event is sponsored by www.alteredgas.com check it out there are lots of pics too.I am going with the MT ET street 28x11.5x15. Tom I dont know why the shift light was coming on I have the tach set at 6200 and I have the 6600 pill in the MSD.I would have to say it was very close to a 1/4 mile but not quite.I know I was over 100 mph.I didnt get a good look at the speedo though.I also ordered the Moroso Trick front springs that Alex reccomended for me.I'm gonna try these two things first.I dont want to do too much at once.If I can get this thing to hook on the surface i'm talking about the drag strip should be really fun.I definately need to get some times on this thing!
