I was just wondering if the front end parts are strong enough for my 1.50 60' times and a bit of air under both wheels on the launch?
I have a 70 mustang with stock front end other than the shocks. Do you guys use heavy duty parts or just keep the stock parts fresh? I'm talking ball joints, tie rods and that kind of stuff.
Thanks.

You have been under my car and seen what it does "air wise" haven't you?
The parts are pretty much the same as yours except for the strut rods and spring perches.

My '69 has bone stock frt sus except for the koni shocks and custom spring perches. 10.30's at 129 1.44 60' 2' of air on every pass for the last 5 yrs and have had no problems. I am going to do a strut front end with a rack this winter so I can set the motor back 5" and have Mike Duffy build me a real set of headers.

The front suspension on my '69 is stock type parts except for the shocks and consistantly goes mid 1.30's with a substantial amount of air every pass (not as much as Alex though.) I had to replace the spring perches shortly after I got it, but I think they were the original perches that came on the car in '69.

The perch that the front coil spring sits on top of and bolts to the control arm.

It depends on how the car is going to leave the line. If it wheelstands, it will pound the rubber bushing out in short order.

That coupled with the fact mine were 30 yrs old is why mine were changed. I beleive Alex sells them with a bronze bushing installed instead of the rubber.

Ok,I looked it up in a schematic after I read this. Im not really sure of the condition of mine, but I will find out when I put in the drag front springs. And yes, I hope to be pulling the front wheels!!!!
