Opted to put a large capacity tranny pan on my c4. When I took the existing filter off a spring/silver pin fell out. Does the pin go in the spring facing down or in the top of the spring facing up?

The cup portion of the pin goes towards the valve body seperator plate. the shank of the pin goes into the spring.
