Ok so heres the scoop. I got in my mustang the other day and i was driving it down the road and in first gear it was slipping very badly. I took the usual first step and decided a filter and fluid change was in order. So I bought some Valvoline Max Life tranny fluid and a bottle of Trans X. Well I dropped the pan and come to find out Auto Zone sent me home with the wrong filter. So I went back and he sent me home with the "right" filter. I matched it up to the old one and everything it looks the same so I bolted it in and filled the tranny with fluid. When I went to back it out of the garage there was no reverse. I have a park, forward, neutral and the drive, 2, 1. Whats the deal here. I have pretty much decided that I will need to drop the pan again and this time I'm going to wash the old filter out in the solvent tank at work like i should have done in the first place and see if that will fix it. Has anybody else experienced this or know why it might be doing this all of a sudden?

It sounds like a broken bellville spring in the forward drum. It's a cheap item, but the trans must come out and apart.------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 408C 4V, best time to date is 10.50 best MPH 127
