Has anybody used the Coast cast 393 crank? Wondering how much, if any heavy metal was needed to get them to balance. Also, how the overall fit and finish was like. Thanks Von

Connecting rod and piston weight has a big effect on the need to add or remove weight. Ive built 3 398s,all with Scat 9000 cranks, one with heavy stock rods needed weight. The other two had lighter SIR Eagle rods and didnt require any weight added. Do you know what company makes there cranks? Scott

No, I dont know who makes their cranks. Ive been told by RPM, whose cranks are actually made by Scat. Who knows??? I know their price is 100 bucks less than a Scat.

I bought one of the cheaper Hawk cranks once. With the stock lenght rods the counter weights have to be cut down to clear the bottoms of the pistons. Needless to say I never used it. Darn nice door stop though!------------------ 91 LX 398w street/bracket 6.88 1/8 60FT 1.44
